Payroll Supervisor
Seeking knowledgeable applicants with strong communication and organizational skills for permanent 12-month position. Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; average salary range of $57,000.

This position reports to the Business Manager located in the District Administration Offices.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
  • Experience in public school financial office preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs payroll processing to include entering days/hours to be paid and receiving and computing all payrolls.
  • Makes all necessary deductions; prepares reports for proper agencies; and maintains records covering all deductions.
  • Administers payroll check processing and compiles regular reports.
  • Maintains and updates payroll-related computer records.
  • Maintains classified or confidential materials in accordance with security procedures.
  • Supervises Administrative Assistants working in payroll and benefits administration.
  • Orients new employees and handles requests for information.
  • Reviews for accuracy employee information in the human resources/payroll information system.
  • Coordinates employee 403(b) program.
  • Maintains employee attendance records.
  • Responsible for PSERS retirement administration.
  • Responds to requests for employment verifications and unemployment forms/requests.
  • Calculates unpaid leaves and raises per the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Performs all duties associated with federal, state, and local payroll taxes and employee tax withholding.
  • Maintains expertise in payroll processing and recommends procedures to promote accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversees payroll matters involving school district benefits administration.
  • Assists the Business Manager and Director of Accounting Services with the personnel budget.
